So, the new 2017 Peugeot 3008 is built on a modern modular platform, which, by the way, cannot be configured with all-wheel drive. Therefore, here the French, apparently, know what they are doing. And by this, the new crossover differs from the previous one in lightness (almost 100 kg lighter), modernity and durability.

The presentation of the new generation took place first in May last year, and then at the Paris Motor Show, where it attracted considerable attention. No wonder, because the new crossover differs from its predecessor in more modern stylish forms, which, I must say, are quite distinctive and came to us from the future. Many people may think that the designers used some substances before designing, however, many of the details are very interesting.

Design of the new Peugeot 3008 2017

The new generation is really a new generation, not a restyling, in which only the radiator grille and bumper were changed. There are dramatic changes that immediately catch the eye. First of all, it is a huge hood and LED optics of an unusual shape, which give the crossover not only style, but also aggressiveness, together with solidity. I must admit that cars from France in most cases, this is exactly what is lacking.

Sharp lines, an abundance of all sorts of small elements, the use of chrome - all this only benefited the design of the new Peugeot 3008. The wide radiator grill, which is interestingly divided into small parts, deserves special attention. In addition, the non-standard rhenium was the division of the head optics into two parts. Wide air intakes along the entire width of the front bumper give the crossover a bit of sportiness, and the bumper in the center has already become an integral part of the design of any self-respecting SUV. Perhaps, despite the exclusively front-wheel drive, it is this class that this car represents.

In profile, the new Peugeot 3008 received fewer changes, but still, it can no longer be confused with the previous generation. In addition, the headlights, as well as the taillights, now protrude more from the fenders, which gives even more recognizability. I would like to note the interesting shape of the silhouette from this angle. In front, it is a rather large SUV, and in profile, the sloping roof gives a considerable amount of sportiness. Some drawing parallels between this car and the Ewok.

The rear end of the new Peugeot 3008 is quite sculpted and muscular. Here, almost all of the design revolves around the LED multi-section taillights, as well as around the rear window. A small spoiler, sharp stamping lines, a small chrome strip on the bumper - it all looks assembled and finished. But something is clearly missing. Considering the size of the SUV, there must be a solid exhaust pipe. And there is one more thing - the plastic of the bumper looks very cheap already. This is probably the end of the claims.

Inside the new SUV, the designers have applied all their rich imagination, which, it must be admitted, they have with interest. The most daring moves are used here, as well as fairly high-quality materials. But just enough so that the buyer does not run away in horror. Yes, they are not bad, but nothing more.

But the technologies are interesting here. First of all, the driver's seat attracts attention, which is practically empty at all. On the steering wheel, there are standard buttons for volume control, multimedia and communication. Nothing else, I must admit, is not necessary. The instrument panel is completely made in the form of an LCD panel, which displays a huge amount of all kinds of information.

In the center, as expected, a large speedometer is shown, it is electronic, and next to it the route laid by the navigator is displayed. I would also like to note the very beautiful animation of analog devices. By the way, the diagonal of the flap is 12.3 inches. Nearby is an 8-inch touchscreen display where the driver can customize everything from heated seats to traffic sign recognition.

Below is the control unit for all kinds of systems. It is easy to see that there are only six physical buttons. A little lower, a heater block is installed, which, I must say, is not so functional. Its position here is purely symbolic, the buttons of the main modes are placed on the panel, just so as not to complicate the driver with searches in multimedia.

The central tunnel is quite massive, there are separate partitions for each person sitting in front, which is quite comfortable and stylish. Next to the gearbox selector there is a washer for controlling the operating modes of this unit, there are five of them. The entire panel is made of polished plastic, which looks expensive and very solid. Even more expensive is the engine start button, which is installed right there.

The rear sofa is not distinguished by its amazing spaciousness, because the wheelbase of the SUV almost reaches 2.7 meters. And here's the headroom with a surplus. The width allows three people to sit here. Only now they will have to arrange their knees. As for roominess, about 520 liters will fit in the trunk up to the second row, and if you fold the backrests, you get almost one and a half cubic meters of free space for loading.

From a technical point of view, the new Peugeot 3008 is really good. The car turned out to be quite light, despite its decent size. However, there are very low-volume units in his arsenal. Basic, 130-strong, has a volume of 1.2 liters, produces about 230 Nm. By the way, the ratio of the mass and power of such a car will be about 15 kilograms per horse, this is about the same as that of the VAZ 2106, only with front-wheel drive. Acceleration to hundreds in almost 11 seconds, top speed at around 188 km / h, all this is a new 2017 Peugeot 3008, with a fuel consumption of no more than 7 liters in the combined cycle. Such an engine is offered only on mechanics.

The second motor, in terms of seniority, is 1.6, which is powered by diesel fuel and develops a decent torque of 300 Nm. All thanks to the turbocharging, as well as the power of 120 horses. At the same time, acceleration to hundreds takes 11.2 seconds, and the combined cycle consumption is striking in its insignificance - only 3.4 liters on the highway. This motor can already be aggregated either with a six-speed mechanics, or with a similar automatic transmission.

Next comes the same 1.6, but a petrol turbo four. There are 165 horsepower, 240 Nm of torque and 5 liters of fuel consumption on the highway. Of course, it is worthwhile to understand that this is only until the turbine is spinning. I think if you twist it well, then you can pour a lot into the cylinders. Acceleration to the first hundred will take only 8.6 seconds, and the maximum speed stopped at around 206 km / h. Great for a one-and-a-half-ton hatch or crossover, whatever it is.

There are still two engines left, their volume is 2 liters. I must say that not every car in the world can boast of such a wide range of power units of different volumes and fuels. Here the French did not reinvent another bicycle and simply forced the same motor to varying degrees. The youngest develops 160 horses and develops a maximum of 201 km / h.At the same time, he will exchange the first hundred in 9.6 seconds. Considering that the acceleration on the highway is about 4.5 liters, then this is just a dream car.

The second, older brother, develops 180 horses and a maximum of 211 km / h. Consumption is about half a liter more, acceleration to hundreds is faster by a second. In general, nothing unusual, just an extra 20 horses.

Price for the new Peugeot 3008 2017

Prices for the new Peugeot 3008 in Russia have not yet been named, it is generally not known when it will reach the Russian market. Most likely, this will not happen until mid-2017.
