- Mazda models in the Russian Federation
According to the analytical agency Avtostat, in May 2019, the mid-size crossover Mazda CX-5 entered the TOP-25 best-selling cars in Russia. We decided to carefully study the company's model range to name the most popular models in Russia.
Looking ahead, we note that this task turned out to be extremely simple, since today there are only 4 Mazda models in the Russian Federation, which we will consider in more detail below.

Mazda 3
The third generation Mazda 3 was released in 2013, and after 3 years the car underwent a planned restyling - it was such a car that was available in the company's domestic dealerships during 2018.
The car has a dynamic and attractive appearance, where the front part of the body looks especially bright, decorated with formidable lighting equipment, a stylish false radiator grille and a laconic bumper with thin foglights.
The profile sports muscular sidewalls and an aft cockpit, while the aft displays bold tail lights and a neat luggage compartment lid.
The external dimensions of the car have the following parameters: 4585 x 1795 x 1450 mm, while the wheelbase and ground clearance are 2700 and 160 mm, respectively.
The interior decoration meets with high-quality finishing materials, well-thought-out ergonomics, as well as good assembly and general style of the front dashboard. In front of the driver there is a stylish multifunction steering wheel and a sporty decorated instrument panel.
At the top of the central dashboard there is a 7 ”monitor of the infotainment and information center, and below - the air duct deflectors and a laconic climate control unit.
The front and rear seats provide a good level of comfort. And if the front row boasts a sufficient amount of free space and a large number of adjustments, then the rear sofa is by no means a free space right next to it.
Customers were offered a choice between 2 petrol engines to choose from:
- 1.6-liter 104-horsepower engine that generates 144 Nm of torque and accelerates the car to 100 km / h in 13.5 seconds.
- 1.5-liter engine from the Skyactiv-G series, reproducing 120 "horses" and a torque limit of 150 Nm. With it, the car accelerates to "100" in 11.6 seconds. and can reach a maximum speed of 191 km / h.
Regardless of the power of the power plant, its assistant is an automatic transmission (with the "junior" at 4 speeds, and with the "senior" - at 6 speeds).
The minimum cost for a restyled version of the third generation started at 1.169 million rubles. A total of 2011 copies were sold in 2018.
Currently, dealerships have already begun accepting orders for the new 4th generation of the model, the price of which starts from 1.523 million rubles.
Mazda 6
Currently, the 3rd generation of the mid-size Mazda 6 sedan is being implemented in Russia, which in 2017 underwent the third restyling.
During the last update, the car received point changes in appearance, a more rigid body, an improved interior and an expanded range of power plants.
The "muzzle" of the sedan meets with expressive head optics, a stylish fine-mesh false radiator grille and a neat front bumper, complemented by a pair of narrow strips of fog lights.
The dynamic profile showcases muscular wheel arches, as well as a domed roof that merges into a lean stern, topped with spectacular tail lights and a raised bumper.
External dimensions are as follows: 4870 x 1840 x 1450 mm. The wheelbase and ground clearance are 2830 and 165 mm, respectively.
The interior design greets guests with a stylish, attractive and sporty interior, vaguely reminiscent of that in BMW cars.
In front of the driver there is a comfortable grip and a nice-looking multifunction steering wheel, as well as a well-read instrument panel. The central dashboard is reserved for an 8 ”" tablet "of the multimedia center and a laconic climate control unit. It is also worth highlighting thoughtful ergonomics and high-quality finishing materials.
Mazda 6 engines:
- 2 l 150-strong;
- 2.5 L 194 hp Skyactiv-G;
- 2.5 l with a 231 hp turbocharger with.
Regardless of the power and volume, a 6-speed automatic transmission acts as a "partner" of the engines, providing acceleration from 0 to 100 in 7-10.5 seconds. and allows you to develop the maximum 239 km / h, consuming about 7 l / 100 km.
The minimum price of a car in the Russian Federation starts at 1.531 million. In total, 5411 copies of the "six" were sold in 2018, which ensured it the second place in the ranking of the best-selling Mazda cars in Russia.
Mazda CX-9
The flagship full-size crossover Mazda CX-9 of the second generation was presented to the world public in November 2015, and after a while it reached the Russian market.
Our car is moderately popular, as evidenced by the sales of 2018 - the car was bought by only 1,667 Russians. The reason for such low sales is, most likely, the cost of the car, the basic version of which will cost at least 2.795 million. But be that as it may, the car deserves more attention.
Mazda CX-9 has a daring, presentable and graceful appearance, which is extremely rare in such large cars.
The front end of the crossover sports vicious lighting, an elegant bumper and a large radiator grille. The long-nosed profile exhibits large wheel arches, a sloping roofline and a slightly rising window line.
The elegant and stylish stern catches the eye with spectacular side lights and a massive rear bumper, complemented by two exhaust barrels.
The interior of the CX-9 is made in a rich "family" style, while not devoid of a sporty component. Before the driver's eyes there is a conveniently readable dashboard and a stylish multifunction steering wheel. The central dashboard flaunts an 8-inch media center screen and an intuitive climate control unit.
The car interior has 7 seats, while the passengers of the first and second rows are guaranteed comfortable accommodation, while the third is suitable for children.
The trunk volume in the 7-seater configuration is 408 liters, while in the 5-seater and 2-seater it reaches 1082 and 2016 liters.
A 2.5-liter gasoline engine of the Skyactiv-G series is installed under the hood of the car, generating 231 "horses" and 420 Nm of torque. Together with him, a 6-speed "automatic" is working, which allows you to change a hundred in 8.6 seconds. and accelerate to the maximum 208 km / h.
As befits a flagship model, the Mazda CX-9 boasts plenty of cool and useful equipment.
Mazda CX-5
So we got to the leader in the Mazda lineup - the CX-5 crossover, which is the company's best-selling car on the Russian market. In 2018, this model was sold in a circulation of 22,594 copies, which was achieved thanks to the optimal price-quality ratio, rich level of equipment and, of course, attractive appearance, both inside and outside.
The exterior of the crossover demonstrates the corporate identity of "Kodo", thanks to which the car is instantly identified in city traffic.
The front of the car demonstrates predatory head optics and a stylish false radiator grille, and the stern - compact parking lights and a neat bumper with a pair of exhaust pipes.
The taut profile sports sculpted sidewalls, muscular wheel arches and a sloping roof for a more dynamic appearance.
The neat and well-cut interior exhibits high-quality finishes, excellent ergonomics and workmanship. There is enough space inside for comfortable accommodation of 4 riders, although if necessary, a third passenger can sit in the back without any problems.
The volume of the luggage compartment is 403 liters, and with folded second row seats - 1560 liters, which allows you to transport even oversized cargo.
The line of engines available for the Russian market is represented by 2 gasoline engines:
- 2-liter 150 "strong" unit, delivering 210 Nm of torque.
- 2.5-liter engine producing 192 "mares" and a maximum thrust of 256 Nm.
The younger engine offers a choice between a 6-speed manual transmission and "automatic", while the older one only has an automatic transmission.
The situation is similar with front / all-wheel drive - the senior motor is equipped exclusively with an all-wheel drive transmission.
As already noted, the car offers a rich level of equipment, and even in the basic version, the price of which starts at 1.579 million rubles.
Conclusion
Despite the fact that the Mazda CX-5 continues to break personal records, the company's total sales in Russia are falling. So, in May 2019, 2,325 Mazda models were sold, which is 8% less than in the same period last year. But we believe that this situation can be changed by the new Mazda 3, which stands out favorably against the background of direct competitors.
