Chinese cars of the Lifan brand have been operating on Russian roads for more than ten years. The cars have proven their quality and reliability, but, like in any other cars, over time, some parts fail, and this requires repair or replacement of a worn out unit.

Lifan car history
The auto concern was created at the dawn of the 90s in the PRC and initially specialized in the production of motorcycle equipment. Motorcycle enthusiasts are probably familiar with Lifan's products, and the company was called one of the best in the production of two-wheeled vehicles in 2010.

- Lifan Solano. A passenger car, the price of which is almost the same as the “opponents” from AvtoVAZ. However, the filling and capabilities of the Chinese product are much higher than the domestic counterpart;
- Lifan X 50. Relatively cheap car with high ground clearance and reinforced suspension;
- Lifan X 60. Full-fledged crossover, Chinese analogue of Toyota RAV4. Differs in a low price, while having excellent dynamic performance. Features of the operation of Lifan
Since we are dealing with cars made in China, they have some body problems. In particular, users note low quality metal, which is subject to severe destruction in winter.
Nevertheless, some experts assure that the quality of Lifan metal is not at all worse than that of European or American cars. Aggressive chemical components negatively affect all bodies, regardless of the manufacturer.
However, if a Japanese or European product is exposed to the environment, all the blame is laid on the workers of housing and communal services, and if the Chinese car is on the low quality of the metal. The opinion may indeed be biased, but it is still advisable to carry out additional anti-corrosion treatment. At least treat the underside of the car, fenders and sills. Yes, you will have to spend a little, but the car will hardly drop in price even after a few years if the bottom remains intact.
A distinctive feature of Lifan can be called a powerful power plant, which is in no way inferior in quality to Japanese counterparts. There is an opinion that the internal combustion engine of a Chinese car is made exactly in the Japanese way. Therefore, no problems with the engine should arise in the first 100 thousand kilometers (belt replacement is not considered).
However, if you heavily load the engine, often operating a car off-road, this will ultimately lead to the need to repair the engine.
With regard to the chassis and gearbox, their work can be considered acceptable. Lifan has a reliable and reasonably strong suspension that can extinguish all the bumps in the road. Of course, sometimes it is possible to replace worn shock absorbers, but cars from other manufacturers also suffer from this problem.
There are also no complaints about the braking system of a Chinese car. Timely diagnostics and constant maintenance will keep the brakes in an efficient and "operational" condition.

Of course, over the past years, there has been a significant increase in the quality of Chinese cars. Nevertheless, questions of assembly and ill-conceived design remain open. Most of the calls at the service station are associated precisely with poor build quality, when weak door handles can simply be torn off if they are frozen at a low temperature. There are also some factory problems with the electrics, wipers and other trifles.

Where to repair Lifan
A stereotype has long been developed among car owners that all Chinese cars are of poor quality and they simply cannot find spare parts in our country. The judgment is erroneous, since most Chinese car users note the relatively high quality of Lifan cars after some time of operation. The shortcomings of previous models are taken into account.
An example is the frequent breakdown of the air conditioner tube at Lifan Solano. Service station specialists replace the tube under warranty and refuel the air conditioner free of charge. And after 2014, the problem was solved by installing another tube.
Since the production of some Lifan models is established in Russia, it is not difficult to find spare parts for them. In addition, Chinese engineers are trying to simplify their products by installing parts from European or Japanese cars on them, so that it would be easier for the service to replace them in the event of a breakdown.
