The information that Geely has bought Volvo will not surprise car enthusiasts, but the fact that Geely's new cars will be based on Volvo's developments will force them to reconsider their opinion about Chinese cars. According to representatives of the company Geely, the new sedan will be based on the modular platform CMA from Volvo. The official premiere of the novelty was promised before the end of 2020. To date, the first photos of new items have already been published on the website of the Ministry of Industry of China and remind many of Volvo cars. Most likely it will be a production version of the previously presented concept sedan Geely Preface, which debuted at an exhibition in Shanghai.
What name the new Geely sedan will receive has not yet been disclosed. In the manufacturer's list, it is listed under the code FS11. It is possible that this approach can take the characteristics of already known Volvo cars, ranging from suspension and base, to engines and functional interior filling. Geely representatives have repeatedly said that the new cars will be equipped with the most modern safety and comfort systems.

Under the hood of the new sedan Geely FS11, a turbocharged gasoline engine from Volvo with a volume of 2.0 liters, 4 cylinders and a total capacity of 190 horses will be installed. A robotic 7-speed transmission will be installed in tandem with the engine. The drive will be front, but other modifications of the novelty are not excluded.
