It has been rumored for months that the Chinese manufacturer is planning to revive the legendary Saab 9-3, with the new name NEVS 9-3EV. The Saab 9-3 sedan was produced for ten years, the last model was released in 2014. In comparison with the original, the Chinese NEVS 9-3EV received minimal changes, the differences appeared in the front grille, the front bumper, a chrome strip appeared on the trunk lid, and the rear optics also changed.

As for the interior of the NEVS 9-3EV, a digital instrument panel appeared on the sedan's torpedo, and a new multimedia system with a huge touch screen appeared in the center of the console. Under the hood of the electric car, a modern engine with a capacity of 177 horses is installed; the manufacturer has not yet declassified more detailed information. Previously, information was reliably revealed that the charge of NEVS 9-3EV lithium-ion batteries will be enough to provide a cruising range of 300 km. It is believed that the new sedan will be able to charge both from a regular outlet and from a special terminal of this company. According to reliable data, the production of the new NEVS 9-3EV will be established at a completely new plant in Tianjin, China. Today, the plant can produce 50,000 cars per year, but according to company representatives, they plan to reach 220,000 NEVS 9-3EV vehicles per year. It is worth recalling that in 2012 National Electric Vehicles Sweden acquired the entire R&D center and manufacturing facilities of Saab.

Despite this, the Chinese manufacturer never managed to buy out the rights to use the Swedish company's brand name. The first buyer of the new NEVS 9-3EV is Panda New Energy from Beijing, which has already purchased 150,000 NESV 9-3EVs.
