Mercedes is one of the most successful car manufacturers in the world, producing comfortable, technological and, of course, prestigious cars.

The history of Mercedes is full of a huge number of iconic models that have changed the idea of the automotive industry and brought it to a whole new level. This time we propose to talk about Mercedes SUVs, which deserve the right to bear the title of the most expensive cars in the company's lineup.

Expensive SUVs Mercedes

Mercedes-AMG G63

A little more than a year ago, Mercedes demonstrated a new generation of the iconic Gelendvagen, and just a month after its debut, it rolled out its charged version - Mercedes-AMG G63.

The car flaunts an aggressive appearance and all the same chopped shapes that have not lost their relevance over the years.

The interior design is tailored in a modern manner and is radically different from the first models of the G-series. In stock - a multifunctional steering wheel with a sporty cut-off lower rim, a fully digital instrument panel, a huge touchscreen media center display, first-class finishing materials and impeccable build.

However, the most important thing is under the hood, where a 4-liter bi-turbo petrol engine lives, generating an impressive 585 "horses" and a maximum 850 Nm of torque. With him, the car is able to compete on an equal footing with many supercars.

Judge for yourself - acceleration from 0 to 100 requires only 4.5 seconds, and the maximum speed is limited by an electronic "collar" at around 220 km / h (optionally, it can be increased to 240 km / h).

At the same time, which is important, the car has not lost its off-road qualities, which means that you can safely go on it even on serious off-road conditions. But is the game worth the candle when the price of a car is in the range of 200-260 thousand dollars?

Mercedes-AMG G65

In June 2012, Mercedes showed the next generation of its flagship SUV AMG G65, which underwent a planned restyling in 2016.

As befits a "charged" version, the car received an even more formidable appearance, a sports body kit, as well as a first-class interior with a mass of modern equipment and impeccable build quality.

The manufacturer did not become wise, retaining the power plant of its predecessor - a 6-liter 12-cylinder petrol engine, the power of which increased from 613 to 630 "horses", and the torque remained the same - 1000 Nm. Such an engine provides the car with acceleration from zero to hundreds in 5.3 seconds. and allows you to develop the maximum 220 km / h (the maximum speed is traditionally limited by electronics).

This model was shown a few years before the debut of the latest generation Mercedes-AMG G63, which we talked about earlier.

At the time of its release, the Mercedes-AMG G65 was not only one of the most powerful, but also the most expensive SUVs in the world - the cost of its pre-styling version started at 264.1 thousand euros, and after restyling it became even more.

Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet

The 2017 Geneva Motor Show was the place of the debut of the unique Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet SUV, which combines the off-road qualities of Gelendvagen and the maximum luxury of Maybach cars.

The car owes its name to the original body, made according to the Landaulet type. Its key feature is the presence of a folding fabric roof over the passengers of the second row of seats. The interior of the car is full of luxury and maximum manufacturability: all kinds of electrical adjustments, exclusive perforated leather trim, a large number of touch screens, seats with ventilation and massage function, separate climate control for each passenger, and much more. Under the hood of the car lives a 6-liter V12 gasoline engine, which migrated here from a charged Mercedes-AMG G65.

It is known that a total of 99 copies of the model were built, which, despite the dizzying cost of 630 thousand euros, were sold out in just a few months after the official presentation of the model.

Today, some owners are ready to part with the limited Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet for at least 1.2 million euros, which automatically turns the cars into a good investment.

Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6 × 6

Specifically by order of the Arab sheikhs, Mercedes has released a limited edition of the 6-wheeled "charged" SUV G63 AMG 6 × 6.

As befits a luxury car, the interior of an SUV welcomes guests with impeccable assembly, exclusive finishing materials and state-of-the-art equipment.

The Mercedes G63 AMG 6 × 6 cabin can easily accommodate 4 adult riders, each of whom has a separate seat with a huge number of adjustments, heating, ventilation system and massage function.

The car boasts a pickup-style loading dock, where bulky and heavy loads can be transported if necessary.

As befits an SUV, the G63 AMG 6 × 6 has excellent geometric flotation and impressive off-road performance. What are the 37-inch off-road tires that allow the car to overcome almost any conceivable and inconceivable obstacle!

Under the hood of the SUV was a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 generating 536 hp. from. and 760 Nm of rotational thrust. According to unofficial data, the car accelerates from place to "hundreds" in 6 seconds, and the maximum speed reaches 160 km / h. The price of a car starts from 350 thousand euros.

Mercedes-AMG GLS 63

In 2012, the management of Mercedes-Benz showed the world a charged version of the full-size SUV GL 63, and in 2015 the premiere of its updated version took place, which changed its name to Mercedes-AMG GLS 63.

In comparison with its predecessor, the car acquired different front and rear bumpers, a new false radiator grille and modernized lighting equipment.

The interior design has become even more high-quality and technologically advanced, and among the finishing materials, decorative elements made of carbon fiber have appeared.

The interior of the SUV boasts three rows of seats, and the last row is quite suitable for accommodating adult passengers.

Under the hood of the GLS 63 is a 5.5-liter 8-cylinder that reproduces a formidable 760 Nm of torque and a limit of 585 "horses". Such symbiosis awarded the large SUV with sports car dynamics - acceleration from 0 to 100 takes 4.6 seconds, and the maximum speed is limited by an electronic "noose" at around 250 km / h.

The cost of a car in the Russian market was about 170 thousand dollars, while buyers could complete the car with a whole range of optional equipment, which could well inflate the cost of an SUV to an even more impressive amount.

Conclusion

Despite the fact that the Mercedes SUVs presented in the selection have an exorbitant cost, the company has never had any problems with their implementation. Moreover, the lion's share of sales of premium SUVs with a three-beam star on a false radiator grille falls on the Russian market.
