In November 2015, Hyundai Motor officially announced the creation of a new automotive sub-brand, Genesis, to compete with premium brands such as Mercedes, Audi and BMW. The company's lineup already has four models G70, G80, G90 and G90L, which, we note, are officially presented on the Russian market.
Last year, the media reported that the company had begun developing a GT class coupe (Grand Tourismo), and already in 2018, its predecessor, the Genesis Essentia Concept, was demonstrated at the New York Auto Show.
This concept clearly demonstrates the direction in which the design of Genesis vehicles will develop for the foreseeable future. It should also be noted that the concept is equipped with a fully electric power plant, which, according to the company's management, has outstanding dynamic capabilities. But first things first.
Exterior Genesis Essentia Concept 2018
Concept Genesis Essentia 2018 has an attractive, modern and, let's not be afraid of the word, futuristic appearance.
Discerning fans of the brand will notice that the novelty has a number of similar stylistic solutions to the conceptual crossover Genesis GV80, shown by the company last year.
Frontal part of the body is represented by an unusual false radiator grille in the shape of a diamond, an elegant bumper with aerodynamic elements and futuristic twin stripes of LED-headlights "Quad Lights".
It is noteworthy that such optics within the company are called one of the main "chips" of the brand, which means that it has every chance to appear on the production Genesis models in the near future.
Another feature of the model turned out to be a transparent hood, allowing you to consider the technical component of the concept car.
When looking at a car in profile the long hood, the front struts strongly inclined towards the stern, aerodynamic stampings on the sidewalls, as well as massive wheel arches are striking, and the rear arches are more muscular than the front ones.
But the main delight is the spectacular butterfly-wing doors, devoid of any physical handles. So, to get into the car, the owner just needs to put his hand to the door surface, after which the fingerprint sensor system and the biometric face recognition system will come into operation.
Laconic, but at the same time spectacular "chopped" feed is represented by a powerful aerodynamic diffuser, stylish stripes of rear LED lights and a large "Genesis" lettering in the center.
Unfortunately, the manufacturer did not announce the outer dimensions of the concept, but even the naked eye is enough to note the small height (about 1.27 m) and the minimum ground clearance.
At the exhibition, the car was presented in the color Stardust Gray Metallic, which favorably emphasizes all the design features of the model, as well as with large alloy wheels of the original design, shod in low-profile tires.

The interior design of the concept coupe is minimalistic, but not devoid of zest. In front of the driver is a large three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with a large logo in the center, and right behind it, the manufacturer has placed a large 8-inch LCD screen of the instrument panel.

The quality of finishing materials is above all praise: genuine leather, carbon fiber, soft plastics and polished aluminum.
The driver and the passenger sitting next to him are offered original and comfortable seats with pronounced lateral support and a sufficient number of adjustments. Between the seats, there is a high tunnel covered with high-quality Oxford Blue leather, in the depths of which a capacious battery is installed.
The interior of the concept has a 2 + 2 layout, which implies the presence of a second row of seats, where, as the manufacturer notes, two adult passengers can easily fit.
Moreover, the car received large luggage compartment, there is enough free space in which to place luggage and go on a long trip for the weekend. True, the exact volume of the trunk is not named.
Separately, I would like to highlight the fact that the car can interact with the “smart home” system and gadgets of its owner, as well as plan and recommend a route, warn about traffic jams, control a smartphone and make electronic payments.
Another feature of the model is the presence of a translucent roof, due to which the already not small interior feels even lighter and more spacious.

Genesis management decided not to disclose information about the technical component of the car, but confirmed that the concept car is equipped with a durable carbon monocoque, and the total power of the electric motors is enough to provide acceleration from 0 to 100 in just 3 seconds.
Also, judging by the photographs of the digital dashboard, the Genesis Essentia's range exceeds 373 km (or 232 miles), and the maximum possible speed reaches 268 km / h. Since the car is driven exclusively by electric traction, there is no need to talk about such an indicator as fuel consumption.
According to unofficial sources, the concept received a modern all-wheel drive transmission, as well as a high-performance braking system. In addition, the car is equipped with an adaptive suspension that can interact with the artificial intelligence Essentia, which in turn is able to analyze the topography of the road surface, as well as recognize the preferences and mood of the driver.
It is not hard to assume that the steering is complemented by an electric booster with variable characteristics, which allows you to achieve the most comfortable driving experience regardless of the environment.
Security systems of the new Genesis Essentia Concept 2018
Genesis Essentia Concept is a complete car of the future, able to offer its owner the maximum set of innovative electronic assistants and security systems, including:

Since the Genesis Essentia is a concept model, there is no need to talk about its cost. In addition, it is unknown if the car will ever go into series production.
